    What is the Beginnings Program?
The Beginnings Program is an educational program for pregnant women to better prepare them for the road ahead.

How does the Beginnings Program help mothers-to-be?
Beginnings provides peer and mentor support throughout your pregnancy. You will be attending free life-skills classes with other young women. The classes include information on healthy pregnancy, budgeting, fetal development, delivery, cooking, nutrition, making good choices, and other topics of interest to you. As you attend and participate in class, you earn points, which, as accumulated, can be exchanged for brand new baby items to help you prepare for your baby’s birth.

Where and when does Beginnings meet?
The Beginnings Program meets every Tuesday, 6:00 pm at various Birth Choice offices. Click here to find one near you.

Does the Beginnings Program provide any support for my baby’s father?
Yes. Your partner/husband is welcome to come to Beginnings with you. We recognize dads are an important part of your baby’s life, and we want to help him prepare for fatherhood. We have men mentors who will support him throughout the pregnancy and help him transition into parenting.

    How do I enroll?
Contact the nearest clinic and they will be able to enroll you and assist you with any questions you may have. We look forward to meeting you!

"I’ve already had an abortion, so when I started coming to Beginnings knowing I was going to go through with this pregnancy. I am married this time around; Beginnings provided a sense of support. Being around other pregnant women was nice. It was accepted that I was pregnant instead of frowned upon. Also Beginnings has supplied me with great contact information. Beginnings has only been a positive experience for me." Pia, 22

"I have found Beginnings to be extremely informative. When I first found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself “how scary, I don’t know how to take care of a newborn baby!” Now after attending the classes, with the help of Sandy Griffin RN, especially, I have much more confidence. I am not scared at all."
